RESEARCH TOPIC:
Noise Pollution
TITLE:
Variety
BACKGROUND:
Noise actually has come from Latin word "noxia" which means hurt or harm that can affect not only human being, but plants and animals as well and it becomes pollutant when it destroys balance and harmony as its main environmental issue. Noise pollution is a type of energy pollution. It continuous or lasts for a short period can equally detrimental to our health. In simple terms, noise is considered as unwanted sound. It is all around us and has multifarious uses in everyday life. In simple terms, noise considered as unwanted sound.
One of the most salient effects of noise on humans is annoyance, which Molino (1979) defines with the statement, "a noise is said to be annoying if an exposed individual or a group of individuals would reduce the noise, avoid, or leave the noisy area if possible" .
PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION:
Sound sometimes interferes with normal activities and it is then that it crosses the boundaries from sound to noise. In Malaysia, because of rapid industrialization and urbanization, noise is becoming an increasing problem. Other than that the main problem of noise comes from:
- Automobile
- Motorcycle Entertainment Noise
Noise has many effects on humans, including hearing loss, non auditory physiological effects, sleep disruption, annoyance, communication interference and other effects
AIM AND OBJECTIVE:
- In order to better understand noise pollution and where it comes from
- What are the roles on reduction of noise through better regulation and enforcement
- To address people on reduction of noise through better regulation and enforcement
MOTIVATION:
There is a lot of difference between rural area and urban areas. Since I came to urban city, I always experience noise pollution. The noise pollution comes from the situation:
- When we arrive home at the end of the day we turn to our stereo systems and television sets to blast the day's worries out of our heads
- We can hear youngsters racing illegally on our streets using heavily modified exhaust system of their motorcycles, screaming out intolerable decibel of noise
- Noise Pollution derives from several sources, including street traffic, aircraft, railroads, industry, construction, consumer products, and other sources
- Of traffic noise involve the design of building.
To bring down the noise pollution, everyone can play a small part by reducing the noise from first then step by step surrounding them.
IDEATION AND CONCEPT:
The idea of this project is to teach people pros and cons of noise pollution to improve their healthy life. Malaysians have to be educated about the danger of noise pollution that is creeping into our daily lives. And the people around them, too by interactive website or installation

RESEARCH TOPIC:
Traffic Congestion
TITLE:
Wonders of Kuala Lumpur
BACKGROUND:
Traffic congestion is a condition on any network as use increases and is characterized by slower speeds, longer trip times and increased queuing. The most common example is for physical use of roads by vehicles.
PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION:
When vehicles are fully stopped for periods of time, this colloquially known as a traffic jam. The causes of traffic congestion:
AIM AND OBJECTIVE:
MOTIVATION:
Traffic is getting worse, and traffic is an enemy in our midst. Every feasible, reasonable effort must be made to stop .It encourages me to gather information or data on the number of key statistics and facts on the topic. Situation that cause of traffic congestion:
It provides overall statistics of traffic congestion in Kuala Lumpur by using info graphic concept. I will bring up this concept as it will help the society to ease congestion

RESEARCH TOPIC:
Waste disposal
TITLE:
Heaps of garbage disposals
BACKGROUND:
Garbage disposal counter as one of the critical situation facing in urban areas. Waste includes all that people no longer have any use for, which they either intend to get rid of or have already discarded. Additionally, wastes are such items which people are require to discard, for example by lay because of their hazardous properties. Items that considered as waste are for an example, household rubbish, sewage sludge, waste from manufacturing activities, packaging items, garden waste etc. Above our daily activities can give rise to a large varies of different waste arising from different sources.
PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION:
Garbage problem occur in places such as:
Currently, over 23,000 tonnes of waste is produced each day in Malaysia. However, this amount is expected to rise to 30,000 tonnes by the year 2020.
AIM AND OBJECTIVE:
MOTIVATION:
To create a better and clean environment, we have to look up on human behavior which we have seen every day and we able to list up what are the human behaviors which stops our green environment and this are few of the major issue I able to highlight on what I have seen in my daily life:
It motivates me to come up with this topic and let the society knows how serious the problem is.
IDEATION AND CONCEPT:
My concept on this topic is to provide an infographic about waste disposal. This infographic covers some helpful information and will help you to visualize and retain this important information on waste disposal.

PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION:
When vehicles are fully stopped for periods of time, this colloquially known as a traffic jam. The causes of traffic congestion:
- Too many cars
- The road are not wide enough
- Accidents
- Highway construction
AIM AND OBJECTIVE:
- To increase public transport usage
- To provide an alternative mode of transport to ease congestion
- To identity the number and data of usages of transportation
MOTIVATION:
Traffic is getting worse, and traffic is an enemy in our midst. Every feasible, reasonable effort must be made to stop .It encourages me to gather information or data on the number of key statistics and facts on the topic. Situation that cause of traffic congestion:
- The gathering of people would also necessitate traffic diversion especially when rally. For an example, rally conducted by Bersih 3.0
- During festival as most of them will be travelling to their hometown for the celebration
- Central location of main bus terminal contributing to traffic congestion.
